Alabama Capital Adopts DHI’s Cloud Technology to Assess Hydraulic Conditions

Montgomery Water Works & Sanitary Sewer Board Selects DHI’s Web Based WaterNet Advisor Tool

Montgomery Water Works & Sanitary Sewer Board (MWWSSB) has selected DHI’s latest innovation, WaterNet Advisor, to streamline their daily Water Works operations.

WaterNet Advisor is a web based modeling tool that provides numerous options for water supply and water distribution system analysis, including hydraulic conditions in a steady state or extended period mode, water age analysis, source tracing, and contaminant event modeling. Fire flow requirements can be computed for selected hydrant nodes based on AWWA standards and simultaneous fire flow at select junctions is also supported by the application. Instant access and ease of use enables better and faster decision making in the field, radically improving the way utilities manage their daily operations.

The Water Board serves the citizens of Montgomery, Alabama and several surrounding rural utilities with approximately 80,000 water and sewer service connections. The Water Board’s mission is to provide the best quality water and sewer services in harmony with the environment. Management’s forward thinking vision has made this utility one of the nation’s premier utilities.

“This (WaterNet Advisor) has helped answer a question I’ve been asking for 30 years about mixing zones”, stated Thomas R. (Buddy) Morgan, General Manager, Montgomery Water Works and Sanitary Sewer Board. “This will enable our operations and engineering staff to quickly run scenarios to troubleshoot problems and evaluate new development,” he continued.

“With DHI’s WaterNet Advisor now in their toolbox, MWWSSB gets the best of both worlds,” explains Josh Mendes, DHI Technical Sales Associate. “They are receiving more value from their investment in external resources to build a quality water distribution system model while being able to independently respond to day to day operational queries in an easy and efficient manner.”
