DHI at Sabah world rivers day conference and exhibition

Focus on issues posed while working within the water

DHI will be present at the Sabah World Rivers Day Conference and Exhibition 2017 to take place at The Sutera Harbour Resort, Kota Kinabalu, during 19-20 September 2017. The State Department of Irrigation and Drainage (DID) with Sabah Institute of Engineers Malaysia (IEM) hosts the event themed "River - Source of Life".

As a pre-Conference activity DHI Malaysia has arranged the workshop “Solving Tough Water Environment Issues Using Modelling Tools with Example Case Studies” on 18 September, 12.00-17.00, also at the location above and co-hosted by IEM Sabah. The workshop will give a general overview on how the usage of modelling tools assist in generating solutions to address tough water environmental issues. At the same time, DHI speakers from Malaysia will share their experiences through the presentation of a number of case studies using MIKE.

Limited knowledge on hydraulics conditions of study area, uncertainties of flood risks levels, potential impacts to water quality and sediment transport are among various issues posed while working within the water environment – be it a river, a reservoir, an ocean, a coastline, within a city or a factory – has long been a challenge to engineers.
