Jacob came to DHI in 1991 and spent the first few years as project manager on projects abroad in Bangladesh, Hong Kong, Central America, China and the CEE countries. For the next 25 years, he subsequently held different leadership positions in the company. From 2013, Jacob has been Chief Operating Officer.
Jacob Høst-Madsen says, 'It has been a great privilege to work for DHI during a period where we have developed from being a small internationally oriented Danish company to a global operation with more than 1000 amazing colleagues in more than 25 countries. Water and water related challenges continue to climb up on the agenda for several of the megatrends in this world, and DHI has never been so relevant as it is today. We have fantastic people and competences, software technologies and the power to innovate and invest with customers and create value. It has been a fantastic journey and I am very proud of what we have achieved together. Now I am looking forward to in the coming years to use my time differently with focus on investments, mentoring and board work. I wish DHI, my colleagues, DHI’s partners and customers all the best in the future and I would like to express a sincere: Thanks for the journey together and be sure that I will always be a DHI ambassador.'
CEO Mette Vestergaard says, 'When Jacob retires after more than 30 years of service, we say goodbye to a significant representative of DHI legacy, and to a colleague who has played an enormous role in driving DHI to where it is today - with offices and customers all over the world. I want to express my appreciation to Jacob for his large commitment and personal contribution to DHI and to our customers during the past 30 years, and for all that he has achieved. I wish Jacob all the very best for the next chapter in his life.'
