DHI Malaysia organised a navigation and navigation projects seminar in a tripartite collaboration

DHI Malaysia, together with the World Association for Waterborne Transport Infrastructure (PIANC) and KASI Malaysia Sdn Bhd, organised a PIANC seminar in Malaysia on 18 April 2016 with the theme, ‘Safe and Sustainable Navigation Infrastructure in Malaysia’.

More than 50 participants were in attendance which included authorities, port operators and consultants from around the country. Attendees participated in lectures and presentations conducted by professionals and industry experts to discuss the state of navigation and navigation infrastructure projects in Malaysia and around the world.

DHI has collaborated with PIANC on several occasions, including the setting up of guidelines for dredging and port construction near coral reefs by our experts. These guidelines were published in PIANC’s Report No.108 – Dredging and Port Construction around Coral Reefs.

The seminar was a success and had benefitted the Malaysian navigation infrastructure community. Many had the chance to discuss ideas and solutions amongst experts and peers in the navigation industry.
