MIKE Powered by DHI User Group Meetings in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

Two MIKE Powered by DHI User Group Meetings (UGMs) were held in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City on 15 and 17 September 2015 respectively.

A total of 75 decision makers, industry experts and water modelling professionals from government agencies, research institutions, private consultancies and universities all over Vietnam attended the UGMs.

UGMs are excellent platforms for new and existing users to share their knowledge and experience in using MIKE modelling software. At both UGMs, participants were updated with new and advanced features of our MIKE software. Torben Strange Jensen and Poul Kronburg, Business Area Managers in Water Resources and Coast and Sea respectively, as well as Nguyen Ngoc Bach, Senior Engineer from our Vietnam office, represented DHI at the events. ‘The UGM is such an informative event. Lots of information were shared among participants and speakers. I have been working mainly in water quality monitoring and am very happy to learn that MIKE Powered by DHI software can be applied to other related professional areas, which can help trigger new business ideas. Thank you DHI and I look forward to this event next year.’
Pham Huynh Quang Hieu, Deputy Director, Information Technology Centre, Dong Nai Province Department of Natural Resources and Environment

Three training courses following the UGMs

Three training courses were conducted by our experts following the UGMs. In Hanoi, we organised a 2-day MIKE FLOOD 3-way coupling course on 16 and 17 September. In Ho Chi Minh City, training in MIKE 11 ECO Lab and MIKE 21 Flow Model Hydrodynamics were conducted in parallel on 21 and 22 September. The training was useful to both existing and new users as they had a hands-on opportunity to practice their skills as well as discuss modelling tips and tricks with DHI trainers.
