Helping industries save money and resources by understanding the true value of water

We have developed a tool called CashFlow to assist manufacturing industries and utility providers in assessing the true value of water and the real cost of water usage for their operations.

We have developed a tool called CashFlow to assist manufacturing industries and utility providers in assessing the true value of water and the real cost of water usage for their operations.

Industries often neglect the actual costs associated with water and wastewater, compared to other utility costs such as energy. However, it is possible to identify significant values that today are flushed down the drain, by calculating the true value of water streams. This means incorporating costs for:

  • internal water treatment/conditioning
  • loss of heat bound in water
  • product or by-product losses lost with wastewater
  • neutralisation and treatment of wastewater prior to discharge

The values can be recovered through an integrated water and resource optimisation plan.

The CashFlow tool will assist our clients in identifying the unit operations and process water/waste streams to target. Thereby, it will help to provide a solid basis for prioritising optimisation projects by focusing on the direct bottom line savings potential.
