Water Distribution Seminar a big success

A seminar on “Practical approaches to water supply and water distribution modeling using hydraulic models” was given by Petr Ingeduld from DHI on Thursday, 16 June 2011. The seminar took place at NTU to accommodate the numerous participants.

A seminar on “Practical approaches to water supply and water distribution modeling using hydraulic models” was given by Petr Ingeduld from DHI on Thursday, 16 June 2011. The seminar took place at NTU to accommodate the numerous participants.

Petr spoke about the various applications of numerical models in water supply and distribution networks, focusing on

• Water distribution modeling and how to use hydraulic models for design, maintenance and operation of water supply and water distribution systems,

• Hydraulic transient modeling,

• On-line modeling, and

• Non-revenue water and leakage management.

To exemplify the topics, Petr presented a variety of DHI’s projects as well as real-life scenarios.

The seminar was very well attended, its 49 participants comprising employees of PUB, NUS, Surbana, CPG, AECOM, Arup, Black & Veatch (SEA) Pte Ltd, JURONG Consultants, Meinhardt and Worley Parsons. Their dedicated participation underlines how well the seminar was received among its Singaporean audience.

Petr Ingeduld is a senior project manager and hydraulic engineer with DHI Water & Environment, with over 20 years of professional experience in the development and application of water distribution models. Petr has developed mathematical models and algorithms used in water distribution, unsteady flow, and hydraulic transient modeling.
