DHI Malaysia’s Head of Coastal and Marine appointed adjunct lecturer at Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP)

Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP) has appointed Dr. Kim Parsberg Jakobsen, Head of Department for Coastal and Marine, DHI Malaysia (Kota Kinabalu) as an adjunct lecturer.

Dr. Kim Parsberg Jakobsen will be sharing his expertise on the subject of ‘Design of Coastal Structures’ and gave his first lecture, ‘Design of Ports and Coastal Protection’ on 1 December, 2014.

With an MSc and PhD in structural and civil engineering, Dr. Kim Parsberg Jakobsen has worked as a coastal and hydraulic engineer for coastal and marine developments in Europe and Southeast Asia since 2000. His experience encompasses monitoring and measurements, analyses and numerical modelling of Metocean conditions and sediment transport for design of ports, marines and coastal protection structures. He has also been involved in physical modelling for port and marina layout optimisation and breakwater design.

His work has in recent years focused on developments around South China and Sulu Seas.
